Hi! I have (as the 3impact docs suggest) created an arrays.ini file and placed it in my app folder. The reason I have created the arrays.ini file is so that I can override the default setting for 3impacts Maximum bodiesbodies count. By default it was set to 1000 but I needed to be able to create more collision couples.

When I run my app with the new settings (set to 5000 bodiesbodies) I get an unhandled exception in BlitzMax and it points to i3ImpactRunBegin().

See next post.

Hi,

Question, How fast is 3Impact?
I downloaded the Demo, and on simple things it had a framerate a lot less than a comparible scene in B3D with EasyTok (Felixs' Tokamak wrapper).

I understand that the main sales pitch of 3Imapct is its simplicity, but that goes out the window if the potential Buyee is comfortable enough to use PhysX or Newton. So as youve done work with both 3Impact and Irrlicht/Newton in Bmax, could you give some indication as to what a speed comparison would be between them.

(That is, Im willing to putup with a longer dev time, cos Im not going to finish anything anyway)

P.S. Hope you had a nice holiday

Reading this forum carefully, I found that I had to employ 2006_07_04_gg_3Impact.zip, but to no avail.

Of course, I followed the instructions carefully, and also took care to clean up before re-installing the _3impact lib with another version.

I even installed "Blitzmaxdemo" into a directory called "Blitzmax" for fear of possibly hardcoded paths.
No change.

So, what am I overlooking ?

Greetings
Sky Captain

PS: Thank you for creating this forum,in the first place. It seems quite valuable to me, even though I am still pondering whether to buy Blitzmax.
